To Repatriate To India

At Southall Funeral Service, we have over thirty years of experience of sending a loved one to India.

Below is a guide to what we need to do:

Items required from the family:

  • A current passport.
  • An original Death Certificate.
  • Contact details of a family member in India to act as a Consignee.
  • An Affidavit, stating they will accept the deceased and passport details for Consignee.
  • Airport Destination

Items required by Indian High Commission London, which we will organise:

  • Coroner’s Out of England Form (see notes 1& 2).
  • Doctors Free from Infection Certificate.
  • Embalming Certificate.
  • Certificate from Funeral Directors confirming that the packing of the body is in accordance with International Regulations.
  • Airway bill from Airline.
  • Flight details.

Note 1: The Coroner is allowed to take up to 5 working days to issue certificate.
Note 2: West London Coroner requires Passport, Death Certificate before they will issue Out of England Form.
